Even though I haven't quite caught up with my reviewing, the forced cultural march continues this weekend. I hope to finally pen an assessment of
Bakersfield Mist on Saturday, and my considerations of
Recent Tragic Events and
Next to Normal should be forthcoming after that. At the same time, however, I will be checking out the
Trey McIntyre Project (taking off, above) at the
ICA tonight, followed by
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, one of August Wilson's best, at the Huntington on Saturday (if the power's on). I will also be hearing a re-discovery, Camilla de Rossi's
The Prodigal Son, by
La Donna Musicale, and may be able to squeeze in one extra fringe show as well.
