Jason de Caires Taylor’s sculptures are often sited underwater, where they "become artificial reefs, attracting marine life, while offering the viewer privileged temporal encounters, as . . . the works change from moment to moment." Rather than operating within art's traditional denial of the passage of time, Taylor's works are intended to incorporate into their meaning their change and decay.
