A celebration of a life

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention a particular show that I won't be able to attend this weekend: the memorial celebration that Reagle Music Theatre has planned for Frank Roberts. Mr. Roberts, the long-time publicist for Reagle, passed away suddenly this past August. Once a member of Actors' Equity, Frank also directed such productions as Mame and The Sound of Music for Reagle, and had another entire career (for 35 years) as a teacher at Arlington High School (where his theatre students included Dane Cook and and Susan Hilferty, the Tony-winning designer of Wicked). I never met Frank, but just in our short email exchanges he struck me as a smart and gently funny professional; I'm sure he will be deeply missed.

The memorial celebration will take place this Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington St., Waltham. Performers who will participate include: Maureen Brennan, Jim Kopycinski, Erin Maguire, Sarah Pfisterer, Judy Ross, Rusty Russell, Jenny Lynn Stewart, Scott Wahle, Jerry Walker, and Maryann Zschau. Donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Frank Roberts Non-Equity Actors Fund via Reagle Music Theatre.
