A brief pause for the aurora borealis

The Aurora from TSO Photography on Vimeo.

I've always wanted to see the aurora borealis. Till I make it up a little closer to the Arctic Circle, however, I'll have to be satisfied with this wonderful time lapse by Terje Sorgjerd (other examples of his work are available on Vimeo). The artist notes:

"Shot in and around Kirkenes and Pas National Park bordering Russia, at 70 degree north and 30 degrees east. Temperatures around -25 Celsius. Good fun."

Uh-huh.  Well, as someone once said, we must suffer to be beautiful.
