The Hubbies return . . .

People have been asking - will I still be handing out Hubbies, now that I've sworn off several theatre companies due to the their participation in the machinations of Kati Mitchell and Shawn LaCount?

To which I say - oh, why the hell not?  I don't see why our local performers should pay for the unethical behavior of their creepy overlords.  And I've seen plenty of good performances on local stages since that whole brouhaha blew up last spring.  Just none, it's true, at the Lyric, New Rep, or SpeakEasy (aside from some performances in Drowsy Chaperone, which my partner insisted we break the embargo to see).   Which I'm afraid is, indeed, too bad for the actors who excelled at those theatres - my suggestion is that they contact the management about making amends with me.

And who knows - I may eventually be back at all of these, too.  I've already returned to the New Rep, as the artistic management is changing hands there (The World Goes 'Round is a good time, btw).  Things change.
