Facing the music

This is an excerpt from The Gonzales Cantata, by Melissa Dunphy, a po-faced 40-minute musical treatment of the testimony of Alberto Gonzales before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2007, when he was "facing the music" over the U.S. Attorney scandal.. The cantata includes such songs as "I Don't Recall," "You Don't Recall," "What Is One To Think," and "This Is Not About Alberto Gonzales," most of which sound wonderful, and all of which can be heard on the work's Drudge-Report-like website. The cantata will be performed in full this weekend at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, but I hope this isn't the last we hear of it - isn't there an ensemble out there who could bring this witty work to the Hub?
